Celebrating Mom on Mother's Day!

Mother's Day is a special occasion to celebrate the most important women in our lives: our mothers. Today, mothers really come in all shapes and sizes and can include more than just the woman that birthed you! I'm very lucky that my mom is one of my best friends and I've watched my two sisters become wonderful moms, raising their own little girls!

Mother's Day is a day to honor the love, care, and sacrifices these women have made for us since the day we were born. My mother is the backbone of our family. She was the one who got us ready for school and the one who stayed up late countless nights to help with homework and projects.

Mothers are also our first teachers. They teach us how to walk, talk, and behave. In fact, I get told way too often how much I sound like my mom! My mom instilled in us the principles that guide us throughout our lives.

Although I knew this instinctively, watching my two sisters become mothers it has become clear how difficult a job being a mom is. It comes with many challenges and sacrifices. Mothers put their own needs aside to take care of their children. They work hard every day to ensure that their children have a better life than they did, teaching them about the world and providing unconditional love and support as their children start to navigate it.

And for those who aren't moms today but want to be, I feel that deeply. The journey to motherhood isn't always a clear or easy one but I hope that you find the child you are supposed to mother soon. That child will be so lucky to find you. My wish is that next year, we will be mothers together!

On this Mother's Day, let us take a moment to appreciate all that our mothers have done for us. Let us thank them for their unwavering love and support. Let us tell them how much we love them and how grateful we are to have them in our lives. And if a woman has been in your life and guided you in this way, make sure you reach out to them today too. A chosen family is special.

To celebrate, why not book a great family session? Grandparents welcome!
