Baby Blues & Sweet Smiles: A Milestone Session for Matthew

Updated: Jul 1

At 9 months old, Matthew is all charm and curiosity; happily sitting, scooting, and discovering the world one backward push at a time. This milestone session was designed to reflect his playful personality and this in-between moment: mobile, but not yet fully on the move.

Classic Colors & Clean Styling. Mom and I built this session around a soothing palette of soft blues, clean whites, and subtle textures. Matthew wore a seersucker romper, one of my favorites from my client closet, that echoed the stripes of his watercolor-inspired backdrop, creating a cohesive look that felt fresh, classic, and unmistakably boyish.

Milestone Magic. One of my favorite things about photographing milestone sessions is freezing time in these beautifully fleeting stages. At 9 months, Matthew was confidently sitting and scooting but not quite crawling forward yet. That window of movement gave us the perfect balance of sweet poses, curious expressions, and just enough adventure to bring his personality through in every frame.

Studio Simplicity. My studio is designed for comfort, safety, and clean, editorial images. Everything from the lighting to the textures to the prop choices is carefully selected to keep your baby center stage. For Matthew, that meant a cozy basket moment, lots of scooting space, and uninterrupted smiles.

Milestone Packages: Thoughtfully built for busy families. Our milestone packages are designed to make capturing your baby’s first year seamless and special. Whether you book a single session or a full-year package that includes newborn, 6-month, 9-month, and first birthday sessions, each is customized to highlight your child’s growth, and your family’s story, with care and style.
